Greetings, fellow adventurers!
My handle is mxby7e and I am thrilled to have you along for the ride on this journey through the vast and mysterious landscape of technology and art.
"mxby7e, why have you started this blog?"
I have always been captivated by the strange and wonderful ways that technology and art intersect. From the innovative use of artificial intelligence in creating new forms of art with AI generative tools, to the exciting developments in technology that are changing the way we produce and consume media, there is so much to discover and explore in this ever-evolving field.
I am also fascinated by the ways in which game development and entertainment technology are shaping the way we tell stories and experience the world around us. Let's not forget about mixed reality and it's potential to blur the lines between the virtual and the real.
I have noticed recently there has been a lack of training that exists to cross the gaps between creative work and technical work, and I want to help that forward.
Some topics I plan to cover include:
- AI Image Generation (Stable Diffusion, Midjourney, NovelAI, DALL-E, etc)
- ChatGPT and GPT3 Prompting
- Unreal Engine Development Tips and Tricks
- Entertainment Technology Training Resources
- Virtual Reality Applications
- Recommendations of New and Exciting Software for Creatives
Who the heck are you?
mxby7e, pronounced as M X byte, has been my online handle for over a decade, spanning forums, image boards, and major social media platforms. The name was influenced by electronic music artist Deadmau5 and the Macromedia software suite "MX" moniker that was attached to mid 2000s graphics software (Flash, Dreamweaver, Fireworks, etc).
The human behind the keyboard is a millennial in my 30's, who has had experience working in the entertainment industry for at least 15 years, specifically in live performance technology and management. I have been a technician in lighting, audio and video technology, an Assistant Production Manager for a 2600 seat performance venue, a vocational training instructor for the entertainment industry, and am currently the Director of Technology and Innovation Accelerator for a startup in the entertainment technology field. A major aspect of my job in my 9-5 is making sure our company is keeping up on the cutting edge of technology trends and integrating them into both our office and entertainment workflows.
I am also a serial hobbyist, dabbling in: VJing (live visual mixing along side a DJ), AI art, python coding (specifically Computer Vision), web design, electronic music (lofi, chillwave, synthwave), DND, gaming, and so many others. They will come up occasionally in my posts.
I want this journey to be a collaborative one
I am always open to hearing your thoughts, suggestions, and requests, so don't be shy! Let's make this blog a place for us to share and learn from each other as we navigate the strange and wonderful world of technology and art.
